Knowledge of Industrial Disputes Act and Standing Orders would give wisdom to our student to become expert in handling labour issues in favour of the expectation from Legislature while in profession or career of labour officer.
Art 51C of Indian constitution requires us to foster the respect for international agreements and to achieve the same one is supposed to know the nature, scope, extent and significance of international law apart from its nexus with the law of the land. This is the expectation while delivering this course to the student, thereby he is equipped with adequate knowledge to enter into practise in the sphere of international law.
Implementation of Constitutional law is developed as a special branch for incorporating fair and equitable administration. During the same, the executive is conferred with discretionary functions and ministerial functions, which are perceived by our student in mock – administration club activity and as a result get acquainted with the grounds for judicial review of discretionary functions. The rebuttal of governmental privileges and fixing of public accountability through the exercise of Right to Information enable our student to have latest scenario. They do get a thorough exposure to various doctrines viz., legitimate expectation, proportionality and Wednesbury principle and the judicial perspective on the doctrines and also able to appreciate the difference between discretionary functions and ministerial functions and the concept and components of natural justice and appreciate the effect of failure of natural justice. They get insights of the control mechanisms of the judge made law through the latest judicial decisions. They get a comparative perspective of the functioning of administrative law in USA, UK, France and India.
The course intends to provide basic understanding of the insurance mechanism. It will teach the students with many types of insurance and how the loss could be covered. It is basically a contractual law where the sharing of responsibility is legalised.Contract law is the genesis and insurance is the species and facilitate specialised knowledge to enable the student either in dealing insurance cases or officer in an insurance company, since modern day is of insurance for every walk of life.
